First is to not leave the lithium-ion batteries in an extremely hot place because heat can reduce the battery's life. Next is to discharge the lithium-ion battery up to 40% and then store it in a refrigerator. This method can help in extending the battery life.

Another thing is to not drain the lithium-ion batteries as charging them in the original charger would be of no use. And, refrain from recharging them when the batteries are already drained, just to be safe. Lastly, it's suggested to buy a high-capacity lithium-ion battery rather than buying a spare because even though the spare is not yet used, they would still degrade.
