Great generator for the price , very happy with itv

Trouble shooting non starting

I got my Genny out after six months of it sitting in the shed and it wouldn't start.
Can't remember if I drained the carby or not before packing it away
Back up tech advice was brilliant.
I had spark but no fuel. Remove the carby and pull the jet out and it was blocked. Cleaned it out and reassemble.
Reprimed it and two pulls and it started up and ran sweetly.
Very simple repair that took only fifteen minutes from start to finish.

My problem WASN'T generator fault it WAS OPERATOR fault. I thought I would post this for people that have the same problem I did.
Would I buy another one YES can't fault the performance.

Credit where it’s due!

I don’t usually leave reviews but I received my Gentrax today, filled it up and added oil.
Pressed the primer about 7 times and it started on the first pull.
The shell quality seems a little low, but for the price I’m stoked with its performance so far after running it for an hour

Unbeatable Value on a strong and reliable performer.

I have had one of these for four or five years. Never missed a beat, easy start. Runs a fridge and a freezer on idle. I love it. On the down side, some of the build quality is what it is. The only thing which might be worth hesitating over is if noise level of critical consideration. A proven performer at a great price. Every household should at least have one of these for emergencies and if you are not going to use it regularly, like all gensets, drain the carburettor when not using.

What type of oil is best for Gentrax inverter generators?

Can I use this generator in a National Park?

Generally, generators below 65dB are allowed in parks as they are considered quiet generators. Our Gentrax units have an average noise level of 58dB at 7m, which is similar to the sound of a low TV volume. However, it's still best to check with the relevant agency managing the national parks that you want to visit in case of additional requirements.

Can I plug an extension cord in my portable generator?

Yes.
Wattage and Gauge: Make sure the extension cord you use is rated for the wattage of your generator and the devices you plan to connect to it. Using an extension cord with insufficient capacity can lead to overheating and potential hazards. Check the generator's manual for the recommended cord gauge and wattage limits.

What is the difference between running (rated) watts and starting (surge) watts?

What is a transfer switch and should I get one?

What should I do if I do not intend to use my generator for more than 30 days?

Steps to follow for long-term generator storage:
1. Drain the fuel from the fuel tank and carby. 2. Remove spark plug and pour about 15ml of oil (SAE 10W30) into the spark plug hole before reinstalling it. 3. Use the recoil starter to turn the engine over several times (with engine switch off). 4. Pull the recoil starter until you feel the compression, then stop. 5. Clean the exterior of the generator and apply a rust inhibitor. 6. Store the generator in a dry, well-ventilated area. 7. Cover the generator.
